Customs Recordal is a scheme for a party to record its own intellectual property right such as a registered trademark, a patent, a copyright at the local customs. The local customs will then monitor the import and export of the protected goods.
If the local customs finds any suspected goods, which are against the recorded intellectual property right, they will inform the corresponding intellectual property owner for verification. If the protected right is really violated, the customs has the right to destroy all of the infringing goods.
Importance of Customs Recordal
- Protect your intellectual property rights and prevent the infringing goods from entering into your market
- Maintain the uniqueness of your goods and protect your interests in the market
